Local Area
Coeur de Combray is located a five-minute walk away from the sleepy village of Ernes, which has a small shop and a bar.
We are also just 7kms away from the market town of St-Pierre-sur-Dives, which has a tourist office, a supermarket and a famous Monday morning market in the town’s 13th-century market hall. You will find all the fresh produce you need at this market, including local specialities of the Calvados region such as camembert and cider.
Normandy has so much to offer. The "Cider & Cheese" route offers the chance to taste and buy local cheese and cider, Calvados and Pommeau from specialist producers. There are also many lovely châteaux nearby, often with delightful gardens, such as William the Conqueror’s châteaux in Falaise and Caen.
The seaside towns of Honfleur and Deauville are a short distance away, as are the WW2 beaches and the Bayeux Tapestry at Bayeux. For those of a more active disposition, horse riding, go-karting, mountain biking and rambling are all available locally, along with canoeing on the River Orne.
